"i love you too"
because it's easier to swallow
than living in our truths.
claiming we're ready
but only when it's time to run.
we got what we always wanted.
too bad our eyes are too big
for our stomachs.
so sad we pretend we don't know
what's coming
in hopes one day we actually
get it right.
